About Pomyx Icons

Pomyx Icons is a hobby-made creative project by Pomyx, an independent hobby content creator, creative artist, web designer, lyricist, EDM and Hip-Hop music producer, and virtual creator.

The project started as a fun idea: I wanted to create a custom and truly unique Android icon pack for my mother-in-law. While building it, I became motivated to develop the idea further and expand it into a full collection of themed Android icon packs.

My goal is to create separate, unique icon packs for every season, holiday, and visual theme, with each pack having its own personality, shape language, and atmosphere.

Pomyx Icons focuses on handcrafted-looking, polished, and visually consistent icon packs for Android users who enjoy personalizing their home screens. You can support the project through donations, Play Store purchases, premium icon requests, or by sending icon requests for missing apps where supported.

How Pomyx Icon Packs Work

Pomyx icon packs are Android customization apps. They work with compatible third-party launchers such as Nova Launcher and Lawnchair. The icon pack does not replace the launcher by itself; it changes supported app icons through the launcher.

FAQ

What is a launcher?

A launcher is the Android interface that manages your home screen and app drawer. It lets you open apps, arrange icons, and often apply icon packs.

What is an icon pack?

An icon pack is a graphic set that replaces supported app icons with icons in a consistent visual style.

How do I use an icon pack?

You need a launcher that supports custom icon packs. Recommended tested launchers are Nova Launcher and Lawnchair. Other compatible launchers may also work.

How do I apply an icon pack?

Open the Apply section and choose your launcher. If your launcher is not listed but supports icon packs, apply the pack manually from your launcher settings.

Where can I see all included icons?

Open the Icons section. There you can browse and search the icons included in the pack.

I cannot see the full icon name. What can I do?

Tap the icon to open a larger preview and view the full icon name.

How can I replace an icon with an alternate icon?

This depends on your launcher. Most launchers let you edit an icon by long-pressing it or double-tapping it, then choosing an alternate icon.

How do I request an icon?

Open the Icon Request section, select missing apps, and send the request if the feature is available in that pack.

How can I restore remaining Premium Requests after reinstalling the app?

Open Settings and choose Restore Purchases. If you had remaining premium requests before reinstalling, the system should restore them.

Why does the icon pack reset to default icons after restarting my phone?

This can happen if the icon pack is installed on an SD card. Install the icon pack on internal storage instead.

Why do the icons look jaggy or pixelated on my phone?

This is usually caused by how the launcher handles high-resolution icons. Setting icon size to around 115-120% may help. Trying another launcher may also help.

I can see an icon in the Icons section, so why does it not change in the app drawer?

The icon graphic may exist in the pack, but automatic theming also depends on the app package name, activity mapping, and how the launcher handles icon packs.

What is the "Report Bugs" option?

It is used to report issues related to the icon pack, not general dashboard framework issues.

My launcher is listed in the Google Play description, so why is it not included in the Apply section?

Some launchers support icon packs but cannot be opened directly from the dashboard. You can still apply the pack manually from the launcher settings.

Why does applying a wallpaper show only a black screen?

When applying a wallpaper directly from the app, the image is downloaded to cache first and then applied. This can require memory. A black screen may appear if the phone does not have enough free RAM. Restarting the phone may help. Alternatively, download the wallpaper and set it from the Gallery.

Muzei: How can I load downloaded wallpapers only?

Open Muzei, select this icon pack, then open its settings and enable the option to load downloaded wallpapers only. Download the wallpapers from the dashboard first.

Muzei: How can I stop wallpapers from downloading every time they change?

If a wallpaper is already downloaded, Muzei should load it from local storage instead of downloading it again. Download the wallpapers from the dashboard first.

Muzei: How can I use only specific wallpapers?

Download only the wallpapers you want to use, then enable the option to load downloaded wallpapers only in Muzei settings.

Why are read and write external storage permissions needed?

They are used for reading and writing cached files and for collecting icon request data where needed.

Why is Internet permission needed?

It is needed to load and download online wallpapers and public update resources.

Why is Access Network State permission needed?

It is used to check whether the phone has an internet connection.

Why is Access Wi-Fi State permission needed?

It is used to check whether the device is connected to Wi-Fi when Muzei loads online wallpapers.

Why is Set Wallpaper permission needed?

It allows wallpapers to be applied directly from the dashboard.

Why is Wake Lock permission needed?

It is used for Muzei live wallpaper functionality.

Why is Set Alarm permission needed?

It allows the analog clock widget to open the clock app.
